GB3 is a sprint single-seater championship based in the United Kingdom. It is the country's premier junior open-wheel series, designed to develop drivers progressing from Formula 4 championships and karting. The field is a professional ladder series; most drivers arrive from the various Formula 4 categories and move on to the next step upward in single-seaters or international GT racing. The current roster contains established junior professionals, with the strongest drivers including Freddie Slater and Hiyu Yamakoshi. Its field is appreciably stronger than the Formula 4 categories feeding it and substantially weaker than Formula 3, the conventional next step; it sits between those tiers in calibre and trades drivers with both.
