🇿🇦 Michael Shin

Michael Shin is a professional single-seater driver from South Korea racing in British national and European open-wheel championships. He competes for Team Motopark in Euroformula Open, where he has taken the majority of his starts, and for Hillspeed in GB3. His rating of 4,010 places him among entry-level professionals; he races against a mixed field of amateurs and graded drivers, and his results sit consistently in that tier.[1]

Shin has competed across four seasons since 2022, with his strongest record coming in Euroformula Open. He took six wins and eighteen podiums across thirty-five starts in that series over 2024 and 2025, seasons in which Team Motopark won the championship both years. In British F4 in 2022, driving for the championship-winning Virtuosi Racing, he scored one win and two podiums from twenty-seven starts. His other indexed racing includes six starts in Formula 3 in 2023 and twenty-one starts in GB3 across 2023 to 2025, where he has one podium. He is currently active in GB3, where he sits twenty-first in the standings after three rounds.[2]

In Euroformula Open, Shin regularly competes alongside Edward Pearson, an entry-level professional with significant experience in that series and in GB3 and British F4, and Oliver Stewart, another entry-level professional familiar from British F4 and GB3; both are closely matched with him in head-to-head racing. Shin has finished ahead of Alex Dunne, a 2022 British F4 champion with forty-five Formula 2 starts, seven times across their shared races. He has also beaten Gabriele Mini, who won the 2020 Italian F4 and progressed to Formula 2 and Formula 3, in one meeting.
