🇿🇦 Michael Shin

Michael Shin is a professional single-seater racing driver competing in national open-wheel championships. He races for Team Motopark in Euroformula Open, where he has taken six wins and eighteen podiums across thirty-five starts in the 2024–2025 seasons. He also competes in GB3 for Hillspeed, currently sitting twenty-first in the 2025 championship standings after three rounds with one podium.[1]

Shin's record spans four seasons from 2022 onwards. He began in British F4 with Virtuosi Racing in 2022, taking one win from twenty-seven starts. He moved to GB3 with Hillspeed in 2023 and has remained there since, collecting a single podium across twenty-one starts. A brief campaign in Formula 3 in 2023 with PHM Racing by Charouz produced six starts without a podium. Euroformula Open became his primary series from 2024, where he has found consistent form; his six wins and eighteen podiums there account for most of his career tally of seven wins and twenty-one podiums across eighty-nine starts.[2]

Shin races regularly alongside drivers at his own level, closely matched with Edward Pearson and Oliver Stewart, both entry-level professionals with extensive experience in the same championships. He has occasionally finished ahead of stronger competition; he beat Alex Dunne, the 2022 British F4 champion and an established professional who has raced Formula 2, seven times across their meetings. Against Gabriele Mini, an elite professional and 2020 Italian F4 champion with Formula 2 and Formula 3 experience, Shin has one finish ahead of him.
