Rory van der Steur is a professional endurance racing driver competing in multiclass championships across the United States and Europe. He holds an FIA Silver rating, the grade for developing drivers in sportscar and endurance racing. Van der Steur has raced primarily for his own team, van der Steur Racing, in the IMSA Pilot Challenge since 2020, and more recently has competed in IMSA WeatherTech and Le Mans Cup machinery; he currently drives GT3 and GT4-based cars in shared-driver formats across these series.[1]
Over twelve seasons from 2015 onward, van der Steur has accumulated 63 starts across national and international endurance grids. His single win came in the 2025 Le Mans Cup, where he took two additional podiums from three starts. In IMSA Pilot Challenge, his primary series, he recorded six podiums across 41 starts between 2020 and 2024, driving GT4-level production-based sports cars and touring cars in a field mixing amateurs and professionals. He stepped up to IMSA WeatherTech in 2025, the top tier of IMSA's national pyramid, with eight starts to date in GT3 machinery.[2]
Van der Steur runs closely with Spencer Pumpelly, a fellow Silver-graded professional with extensive endurance experience, and finishes regularly behind Robby Foley, a Gold-graded professional and 2025 GT World Challenge America Pro-Am champion. He has finished ahead of Scott McLaughlin, a Platinum-graded former two-time Supercars champion, once in shared-car racing, and once beaten Kyle Kirkwood, a Gold-graded professional with 86 IndyCar starts and a pair of junior single-seater titles.
