🇺🇸 Michael Lewis

Michael Lewis is a professional sportscar racer competing primarily in the IMSA Pilot Challenge for Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb-Agajanian, where he drives TCR touring cars in that series' multiclass endurance races. Graded FIA Gold, he holds a Racer Rating of 4,017. Lewis has spent his career in endurance and single-seater racing across multiple continents; his first indexed racing came in Formula 3 machinery in 2012, and he has been active for more than a decade with 115 career starts.[1]

In the IMSA Pilot Challenge, where the vast majority of his record sits, Lewis has won seven of his 49 starts and finished on the podium 21 times across five seasons from 2019 to 2023. He won three consecutive Pilot Challenge championships, in 2019, 2021 and 2022, all with the same team. His earlier career included 58 starts across the Formula 3 Euro Series and FIA Formula 3 European between 2012 and 2013, where he took one win and five podiums combined. He started once in IMSA WeatherTech in 2014, and most recently appeared in endurance racing at the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2023 and 2024, finishing on the podium in both starts.[2]

In the Formula 3 fields of 2012 and 2013, Lewis raced against entry-level and established professionals including Sandro Zeller, whom he usually outpaced, and Pascal Wehrlein, the 2012 Formula 3 Euro champion who went on to race Formula 1 and later Formula E; Lewis finished ahead of both drivers across their meetings. Tom Blomqvist, an established professional who later won the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech GTP championship, proved closely matched across their Pilot Challenge encounters.
