Gavin Ernstone is an entry-level professional competing in national multiclass endurance and sprint racing. He races for Road Shagger Racing in the IMSA Pilot Challenge TCR class, driving a TCR touring car in shared-driver endurance events across the United States. His primary career spans IMSA Pilot Challenge from 2018 to the present, with earlier racing in NASA's GTS3 and Super Touring 3 classes from 2009 to 2017, and a single start in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in 2018.[1]
Across 61 starts since 2009, Ernstone has taken 17 podiums and six wins. He has won five times in IMSA Pilot Challenge since 2018, where he has compiled 13 podiums in 52 starts. His earlier NASA career, raced solo in production-based machinery, yielded one win and four podiums across eight starts. He finished 32nd in championship standings in his sole Nürburgring appearance. The bulk of his racing has come in IMSA Pilot Challenge, where he remains active.[2]
In IMSA Pilot Challenge, Ernstone runs among a field that includes multiple champions and graded professionals.
