The FIA Formula 3 Championship, formerly known as the GP3 Series, is a single-seater sprint championship launched in 2010 as a stepping stone between junior formulae and the world's top professional circuits. The series runs spec single-seaters and competes primarily at Formula One support events across Europe and selected international venues. The field is professionally established, with a roster predominantly of Gold and Silver graded drivers; George Russell, Christian Lundgaard, and Jack Aitken represent the calibre at the top. Drivers typically arrive from Formula Renault Eurocup and other regional Formula 3 championships, and move on most commonly to GT endurance racing or Formula 2.
