FIA Formula 3 European was a European single-seater sprint championship that ran F3 cars. It no longer operates. The field held established professionals and early-career drivers; Lando Norris, Alex Palou and Zhou Guanyu were among its front-runners. The series served as a stepping stone between lower single-seater formulae such as Formula Renault Eurocup and the top level of international motorsport, with its drivers moving most commonly into prototype and GT racing through WEC and IMSA, or forward to Formula 2. The median driver was rated at the established-professional level, placing it slightly stronger than Formula Renault Eurocup and considerably stronger than GT World Challenge Europe, though comparable to the prototypes series it fed into most directly.
