🇷🇺 Nikita Troitskiy

Troitskiy is a professional driver who raced single-seaters across two seasons in European junior formulae. He competed in Formula Renault Eurocup in 2015 and 2016, then moved to FIA Formula 3 European in 2018 with Carlin, a team fielding multiple drivers and boasting a strong record in the championship. He finished 13th in the Eurocup points in his final season before retiring from the indexed record.[1]

His Formula 3 European campaign yielded one win, at Zandvoort in July 2018, and one podium finish across 26 starts. That victory came as an upset against a field including Lando Norris, who would go on to win the championship that year and later establish himself in Formula 1, and Alex Palou, who has since become a multiple IndyCar champion. Troitskiy finished ahead of both drivers on multiple occasions in their encounters. In his earlier Eurocup season, he contested 11 rounds without a podium finish.[2]

Against the regulars he met most often in this period, Troitskiy typically finished behind Ferdinand Habsburg and Robert Shwartzman, both established professionals with significant credentials in higher categories; Habsburg has gone on to win both the WEC and European Le Mans Series LMP2 titles, and Shwartzman was the 2019 Formula 3 champion. The strength of those benchmarks places Troitskiy in a field where his occasional wins and podiums came against drivers who would reach the top of their respective paths.
