Petru Florescu is an entry-level professional who raced single-seaters across four seasons from 2015 to 2018. He spent the bulk of his career in British F4, where he drove for Carlin and recorded five wins and eight podiums across 50 starts. He also competed in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, Formula Renault Eurocup, and GB3, though his appearances outside British F4 were brief.[1]
Florescu's record in British F4 placed him among the capable mid-field runners in a competitive field. He finished ahead of Lando Norris twice; Norris would go on to win the championship that year and later become a Formula 1 driver. Florescu also beat Tadasuke Makino once, a driver who would become an elite professional and Super GT champion. Against his most regular opponents, however, the picture was more mixed; he was closely matched with James Pull, a Gold-graded professional, but typically finished behind Sennan Fielding, who went on to win the British GT Championship GT4 title. His appearances in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship yielded no podiums across 20 starts, and his forays into Formula Renault and GB3 were limited to a combined six starts.[2]
