Ben Hingeley was a professional single-seater racing driver who competed in two seasons of national and international junior championship racing between 2016 and 2018. He raced for Fortec Motorsports in GB3 and later drove for Hitech Bullfrog GP in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship.[1]
Hingeley spent two seasons in GB3, taking four wins and seven podiums from 21 rounds to finish third in the 2017 championship standings. He then moved to the FIA Formula 3 European Championship in 2018 for 24 starts with Hitech Bullfrog GP. Across his indexed career of 66 starts he recorded four wins and nine podiums.[2]
He raced regularly against Enaam Ahmed and Toby Sowery, both established and professional-level drivers, and typically finished behind them. His most notable scalps came against drivers who went on to much higher levels; he finished ahead of Lando Norris, later a Formula 1 driver and 2017 Formula 3 European champion, once during their time in the category, and ahead of Alex Palou, a five-time IndyCar champion, three times across their meetings in the series.
