Matthieu Vaxiviere is an established professional racing in multiclass endurance series. Graded FIA Gold, he competes primarily in prototype and GT racing across the World Endurance Championship, European Le Mans Series, and Asian Le Mans Series, driving LMP2 prototypes for AF Corse. His career spans 15 seasons and 182 starts across multiple series.[1]
Vaxiviere has won three championships: the 2022 WEC, the 2024 European Le Mans Series, and the 2026 European Le Mans Series, all with AF Corse. His WEC record over thirteen seasons comprises 53 starts, two wins and seventeen podiums. In the European Le Mans Series he has taken five wins and ten podiums across 21 starts. He has raced single-seaters earlier in his career, including Formula Renault Eurocup and Formula V8 3.5, where he won five races and took nineteen podiums across 40 starts; he also made three starts in GP3 Series in 2017. In 2019 he began concurrent racing in IMSA WeatherTech and GT World Challenge Europe, taking a win in the latter. Since 2024 he has expanded into Asian Le Mans, where he has one win and five podiums from seventeen starts. He currently competes in the 2026 WEC season, which remains in progress.[2]
His regular opponents in endurance racing include Louis Deletraz, a five-time European Le Mans Series champion graded Gold, against whom Vaxiviere typically finishes second, and Oliver Rowland, an elite professional and 2015 Formula V8 3.5 champion graded Platinum. Vaxiviere has finished ahead of Rowland nine times across their shared career. He has also beaten Pierre Gasly, a Formula 1 driver and 2013 Formula Renault Eurocup champion, on six occasions in their Formula V8 3.5 meetings.
