Chris Harkins was a club-level racer who competed in NASA, a multiclass American road-racing championship, between 2013 and 2016. He drove a spec BMW E30 3-series in the Spec E30 class, piloting the same car for 27 of his 32 starts across four seasons.[1]
Harkins recorded 32 starts over four years of racing, finishing 76th in the 2016 NASA championship standings in his final season. He typically finished behind the regular competitors he encountered most often, including Ryan Whitinger and the semi-professional Sandro Espinosa, both NASA regulars with substantially more starts to their names. He did beat Rob Eskew, another semi-professional competitor with 91 NASA starts and 35 additional BMW CCA Club Racing appearances, on four occasions, and outfinished Espinosa six times across their head-to-head meetings.[2]
