Hans von Stuck was a German racing driver who competed in Formula 1 during the early 1950s. He made three starts across the 1952 and 1953 seasons, all driving for the AFM team. His single-seater career yielded no wins or podium finishes, with an average finishing position of fourteenth place among classified results.[1]
During his brief time in Formula 1, von Stuck occasionally competed against established professionals from that era. He finished ahead of Louis Rosier, a driver rated considerably stronger, in one race; he also beat Yves Cabantous once. These isolated results against more accomplished competitors offer glimpses of competitive moments in an otherwise difficult campaign. His highest finishing position in the championship was twentieth place, recorded in 1953.[2]
The Stuck name would become more prominent in motorsport through his descendants; both his son Hans-Joachim and his grandsons Johannes and Ferdinand Stuck went on to pursue racing careers. Hans von Stuck's own involvement in the sport remained limited to his brief stint in early Formula 1 before his retirement from racing.
