José Rodrigues is a retired professional racing driver who competed in the FIA World Touring Car Cup, a single-class championship that fields amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals together. He raced for Target Competition and made three starts in 2018, the only season of racing on record.[1]
Rodrigues finished 30th in the championship standings. His three-round campaign placed him against established professionals including two-time world champions and multiple-series competitors. He finished behind Thed Bjork, the 2017 World Touring Car Championship winner, and Esteban Guerrieri, who would go on to win the FIA World Touring Car Cup that same year. Rodrigues took a single finish ahead of Frederic Vervisch, an FIA Gold-graded professional, and another ahead of Gordon Shedden, the 2016 British Touring Car Championship champion.[2]
