Over his career, he was closely matched with Alex Riberas, an established professional and FIA Gold driver who went on to race in IMSA WeatherTech, WEC and multiple seasons of Formula Renault Eurocup. Against Luciano Bacheta, a professional graded Silver driver, Liiv typically finished behind him. On single occasions Liiv finished ahead of both Nick Yelloly, a Platinum-graded professional later active in GP3 and IMSA WeatherTech, and Carlos Sainz, the 2014 Formula V8 3.5 champion and a current Formula 1 driver with 246 starts in the series.[2]
