Valle Mäkelä is a Finnish driver who competed at the semi-professional level, with a Racer Rating of 3,263. This rating places him among competitive amateurs and entry-level professionals; he raced against drivers of professional standard but did not establish himself as a consistent winner in that company.[1]

Mäkelä's racing record consists of three starts in the 2008 Star Mazda Championship, all with Andersen Racing. He finished fifteenth overall in the series without taking a podium. His average finishing position of tenth across those three races reflects a consistent mid-field presence. He showed occasional competitiveness against stronger drivers, beating Christopher Cumming and Rusty Mitchell twice each, and Tom Gladdis, an FIA Silver graded professional, on two occasions. However, he was outpaced by the series' front-runners; he finished behind John Michael Edwards, the 2008 Star Mazda champion, in all three shared races, and behind Peter Dempsey, an FIA Bronze graded driver, in all three meetings.
