🇮🇹 Fabrizio Giovanardi

Fabrizio Giovanardi is a retired Italian professional driver whose career centred on single-seater and touring car racing from 1988 to 2018. He raced primarily in the World Touring Car Championship for JAS Motorsport between 2005 and 2006, and made his final appearance in the FIA World Touring Car Cup with Romeo Ferraris in 2018. His indexed record across all series comprises 71 starts yielding 5 wins and 10 podiums.[1]

His most substantial achievement came in the World Touring Car Championship, where he took 4 wins and 8 podiums across 22 starts. He also contested International Formula 3000 between 1989 and 1991, scoring a single win among 25 starts for Forti. His 2018 campaign in the FIA World Touring Car Cup, his last racing on record, yielded 23 rounds but no podium finishes and a championship position of 24th. A one-off appearance in Formula 3 Macau in 1988 completed his indexed record.[2]

In touring car competition Giovanardi raced regularly against established professionals. He was closely matched with Gabriele Tarquini, a 2009 World Touring Car Championship winner who became a professional mainstay of the FIA World Touring Car Cup, and with Tom Coronel, an entry-level professional with over 390 starts in touring cars. In International Formula 3000, he finished ahead of Allan McNish five times across the series' professional-level grid. He also beat Damon Hill, the 1996 Formula 1 champion, on four occasions in that formula.
