Dave Scott is a semi-professional racing driver from the United Kingdom rated at 4,433, placing him in the professional tier; this level describes drivers who are nationally competitive front-runners or strong performers in feeder series fields. His racing career on record spans three seasons from 1984 to 1987, during which he made six starts in Formula 3 Macau, the series in which he concentrated his efforts. He competed primarily for Le Mans Motor Corporation and Mint Engineering but did not win races or finish on podiums.[1]

Scott's record in Formula 3 Macau put him in fields of high calibre. He raced repeatedly against Mike Thackwell, Volker Weidler, Slim Borgudd and Roberto Guerrero, all elite professional drivers with ratings above 6,600. Against these rivals Scott finished consistently outside the points; he was outpaced by Thackwell and Borgudd in all five shared races and lost head-to-head records against Weidler and Guerrero. His average finishing position across classified starts was P14.5. The one notable bright spot in his record was a single win over Emanuele Pirro, an established professional rated at 6,895; he also finished ahead of future Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill, Johnny Herbert and Johnny Dumfries in isolated races, though these instances do not reflect a pattern of competitiveness against drivers of that calibre.
