Kotaro Sakurai is a Japanese racing driver who competed in single-seater motorsport during the early 2010s. He made his FIA Formula 3 European debut in 2011, recording two starts for Hitech Racing without securing points finishes. The following year marked the bulk of his racing activity as he contested the GP3 Series in 2012, completing six rounds of competition with Status Grand Prix.[1]
Across his recorded racing career, Sakurai accumulated eight starts across the two series without achieving wins or podium finishes. His final competitive activity came in the 2012 GP3 Series season, where he concluded in eighteenth place. He raced under a Filipino license during parts of his career despite his Japanese nationality, and competed in lower formula categories earlier in his development before transitioning to the international single-seater level.[2]
