Richard Philippe was a professional single-seater racer who competed in two seasons of open-wheel racing across Europe. He drove for Carlin Motorsport in the Formula 3 Euro Series in 2008 and raced in Formula V8 3.5 the preceding year with Fortec Motorsports, accumulating 24 starts across both championships.[1]
Philippe finished 28th in the Formula V8 3.5 championship standings in 2007 and spent his second season in the Formula 3 Euro Series, where he was a regular competitor in fields mixing amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals. Against his most frequent rivals he typically finished behind them; however, he beat Bertrand Baguette, who would go on to win the 2009 Formula V8 3.5 championship, in three separate meetings, and finished ahead of Koudai Tsukakoshi once across their head-to-head racing.[2]
