Kyle Haney was a club-level driver competing in SCCA Majors and Regionals, a pair of national multiclass sprint championships in which as many as 25 classes share the track in a single race. Haney raced the SM class, driving a spec 1990-2005 Mazda MX-5 Miata. His indexed record spans three seasons, from 2021 to 2023, across 24 starts.[1]
Haney took one win and two podiums in SCCA Regionals, the higher of his two championships in the database. He made 12 starts in SCCA Majors between 2021 and 2022, and 12 more in Regionals through 2023, finishing 92nd in the Regionals points that final year before retiring from the sport.[2]
Haney raced regularly against Nick Leverone, a competitive amateur with extensive experience across SCCA series, and Danny Steyn, a semi-professional who won the 2021 SCCA Runoffs STL championship. Haney typically finished behind both. He shared the grid with established and professional drivers including Matthew Payne, an FIA Gold-graded driver with 99 Supercars Championship starts, and Sam Craven, a professional who took the 2025 GT4 America Pro-Am title, beating each of them once during his career.
