🇺🇸 Larry Foyt

Larry Foyt is a professional driver who raced in NASCAR Xfinity and IndyCar between 2001 and 2007. He ran most of his 67 Xfinity starts for MacHill Motorsports, a small operation that produced no wins across its roster; his three IndyCar appearances came with A.J. Foyt Enterprises on oval tracks. At a rating of 4,946, he sits in the professional band, a level that describes drivers who compete regularly against graded professionals and semi-professionals but typically finish outside the front running.[1]

Foyt spent six seasons indexed across both series without a championship. In NASCAR Xfinity, his primary home, he contested the full calendar only once; his final season in 2007 saw him finish 44th in points across a single round run. His Xfinity record drew him into regular competition with established professionals including Greg Biffle, the 2002 Xfinity champion, and Jamie McMurray, though he finished behind both drivers in most meetings. The strongest driver he regularly beat was Kevin Harvick, a two-time Xfinity champion; Foyt finished ahead of him seven times across their shared Xfinity starts.[2]

Foyt also took three starts in IndyCar, all at the Indianapolis 500 for his family's team. There he raced against Christian Fittipaldi, an International Formula 3000 and IMSA WeatherTech champion, and finished ahead of him on three occasions. His career ended as a driver in 2007, and he moved into team management at A.J. Foyt Enterprises.
