🇯🇵 Masayuki Ueda

Masayuki Ueda was a semi-professional endurance racer competing across three international and national championships. He raced the GT300 class of Japan's Super GT multiclass series for most of his career, spending a decade with R'Qs Motor Sports from 2008 to 2018. In later years he contested the solo single-class Super Formula Lights and made one appearance in the World Endurance Championship's LMP2 prototype class, driving for Gainer International in 2013.[1]

His record across 84 starts yielded one podium finish, taken in the 2013 WEC round. His primary racing ground was Super GT, where he accumulated 65 starts over eleven seasons in a field mixing amateurs and professionals, including multiple champions. In that series he regularly finished behind established professionals such as Nobuteru Taniguchi, a three-time GT300 champion, and Kazuki Hoshino, a two-time GT300 champion, though he occasionally bettered both. After a gap of three years he returned to single-seater racing in Super Formula Lights in 2021, contesting two seasons for Rn-Sports with 18 starts in that national amateur-to-professional field.[2]

The drivers he raced against most often in Super GT were graded Silver and above; the field also included Kenta Yamashita, a Platinum-graded professional and three-time GT500 champion, and Tomoki Nojiri, a two-time Formula championship winner, both of whom Ueda finished ahead of on three occasions. His most consistent affiliation was with Team Jim Gainer, fielding him for 36 of his 84 starts.
