Matt Stretch is a semi-professional racing in a national solo-driver multiclass championship. He competes in SCCA Majors, a series mixing amateur and professional entrants across 25 classes in single races, where he drives spec Mazda MX-5 Miatas in the SM and SMX classes. His career began in 2016 with a start in SKUSA SuperNationals before moving into SCCA competition in 2022.[1]
Across six seasons and 62 starts, Stretch has taken three wins and 18 podiums, the bulk of them in SCCA Majors; he added one podium in a 2025 SCCA Regionals outing and started the series' championship runoff that same year. His record shows him consistently mid-pack in a field of competitors ranging from club-level amateurs to graded professionals. Against his most frequent opponents he trails Logan Stretch, an entry-level professional with experience in Whelen Mazda racing and NASA, but regularly finishes ahead of Matthew Davis, a developing driver who races the same SCCA schedule.[2]
On occasion he has finished ahead of drivers of considerably higher standing. He beat Broc Feeney, the 2025 Supercars champion and an elite professional, once across their meetings in SCCA Majors, and has finished ahead of Sam Craven, the 2025 GT4 America Pro-Am champion and a professional-level bronze-graded driver, twice in the same series.
