Moises de la Vara was a semi-professional racing driver who competed in single-seat ladder series between 2016 and 2020 without claiming wins or podiums in those recorded campaigns. With a Racer Rating of 3,026, he sits in the semi-professional band, meaning he competed at the level of mid-pack finishers among full professionals and paid drivers in developing series, rather than establishing himself as a consistent race winner or front-runner. His 38 starts across Pro Mazda and Indy Pro 2000 yielded an average finish of P9.4; he spent most of his career racing alongside mid-tier professional drivers in the Road to Indy ladder under team DEForce Racing.[1]

De la Vara's record against his regular rivals tells a story of consistent mid-field placement. He finished behind the 2020 Indy Pro 2000 champion Sting Ray Robb in 33 of 35 shared races, and against Parker Thompson, an FIA Silver graded driver and future Porsche Carrera Cup champion, he was outscored 28 times in 35 encounters. However, he did achieve occasional successes: he beat Kyle Kirkwood, an FIA Gold driver and 2019 Indy Pro 2000 champion, three times across their careers, and managed isolated results ahead of other stronger drivers including Pato O'Ward, an elite professional. These isolated victories against high-calibre opposition appear to have been sporadic rather than the foundation of a sustained pattern of competitiveness.[2]

Outside the Road to Indy series, de la Vara achieved a notable success as the 2017–18 NACAM Formula 4 Championship Champion, indicating he could perform at a higher level in that regional single-seat series. His active career ended in 2020 after his second season in Indy Pro 2000 without having progressed to victories at that level of competition.
