Robert Cregan was a professional racing driver who competed in single-seater sprint racing. He raced in the GP3 Series, a single-class championship mixing amateurs, semi-professionals, and graded professionals, for Ocean Racing Technology between 2012 and 2013.[1]
Cregan completed two seasons in the indexed record, taking 15 starts across 2012 and 2013. His final championship appearance came in 2013, when he finished 19th in the season standings after competing in two rounds. He registered finishes ahead of elite professionals including Mitch Evans, a Formula E and GP2 driver, twice, and Carlos Sainz, the 2014 Formula V8 3.5 champion and a long-term Formula 1 driver, once.[2]
In regular competition Cregan typically finished behind established professionals Tio Ellinas, a Gold-graded driver with over 60 starts in single-seater and Porsche Supercup racing, and Conor Daly, 2010 Star Mazda champion and an IndyCar regular with more than 130 starts. His team, Ocean Racing Technology, was a modest operation; across the indexed database it won two races and fielded 13 drivers, with Brendon Hartley, an established professional, as its strongest entry.
