Toby Scheckter is a semi-professional racing driver competing in single-seater open-wheel racing. His indexed record consists of three starts in Formula 3 Macau in 1999, driving for Speedsport F3 Racing Team in a field mixing amateur, semi-professional and graded professionals.[1]
Scheckter's career on record spans a single season in 1999, with all three of his starts coming in Formula 3 Macau. He finished behind established professionals Jenson Button and Darren Manning in the races they contested together, though he recorded a pair of finishes ahead of stronger drivers: he beat Jonathan Cochet, an International Formula 3000 racer with four starts in the series, and Alex Yoong, a former Formula 1 driver with seven starts in Formula 3 Macau and an FIA Gold grading. Son of 1979 Formula One World Champion Jody Scheckter and brother of IndyCar Series driver Tomas Scheckter, he won the SKUSA SuperNats kart finals in Las Vegas in 2004 and has raced in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and the British Formula Three Championship outside the indexed series.[2]
