Martino's racing career on record ran to a single season in 1997, with three starts in the Formula 3 Macau championship. He finished ahead of established professionals Yuji Tachikawa, a two-time Super GT GT500 champion with 128 starts in that series, twice, and David Saelens, who contested 30 rounds of International Formula 3000. His regular competitors included Mark Webber, later an elite professional and 2016 WEC LMP1 champion with 217 Formula 1 starts, and Oriol Servia, a Gold-graded established professional with 81 IndyCar starts; Martino generally finished behind both.[2]
