Norman Simon was a professional single-seater and sports car racer from Germany who competed in Formula 3 Macau, International Formula 3000 and the FIA GT Championship between 1997 and 2005. His career comprised 12 starts across five seasons, latterly driving shared-car endurance racing for Reiter Engineering in the FIA GT Championship.[1]
Simon raced in Formula 3 Macau as an amateur in 1997, then graduated to International Formula 3000 in 1999 with five starts for World Racing Team Fina. His longest campaign came in the FIA GT Championship, where he made four endurance starts for Reiter Engineering between 2001 and 2005, finishing 32nd in the 2005 championship standings. His most regular opponents were established professionals Soheil Ayari and Stรฉphane Sarrazin, drivers with substantial careers in international racing; Simon typically finished behind both. He beat 2004 FIA GT champion Fabrizio Gollin twice across their meetings and finished ahead of 2001 International Formula 3000 champion Justin Wilson once.[2]
