🇨🇭 Alexandros Margaritis

Margaritis is a professional racing driver who competed in open-wheel and endurance series across a ten-year span. He raced solo in Formula 3 Euro Series from 2003 to 2004 with AB Racing Performance, then moved into shared-car endurance racing in the FIA GT Championship between 2004 and 2009 with Phoenix Racing. His final indexed racing came in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a multiclass national endurance championship run at the Nürburgring, where he drove a GT3 car in the SP 9 class for H&R Spezialfedern from 2011 to 2013.[1]

Across 42 starts he recorded two podiums, one in each of his first two series. In Formula 3 Euro Series he finished on the podium once in 33 starts. His four appearances in the FIA GT Championship yielded one podium finish. His endurance racing in the Nürburgring series produced no podiums across five starts and saw him finish 34th in the final championship standings in 2013.[2]

The Formula 3 Euro Series grid he raced in included established and aspiring professionals. Among his regular opponents was Katsuyuki Hiranaka, an entry-level professional who proved closely matched against him. Margaritis also raced against drivers who would go on to much greater success: he finished ahead of Lewis Hamilton once in the same field, and ahead of Nico Rosberg eight times across their meetings in the series.
