🇧🇪 Greg Franchi

Greg Franchi is a professional driver from Belgium who raced single-seaters and endurance cars across five seasons between 2004 and 2008. He drove for Prema Powerteam in Formula 3 Euro Series and Formula V8 3.5, and for Larbre Compétition in the FIA GT Championship.[1]

Franchi spent two seasons in Formula 3 Euro Series, accumulating 27 starts for Prema in 2004 and 2005, the latter campaign being the year the team won the championship. He moved to Formula V8 3.5 in 2006, where he took his sole podium across his entire career and finished 23rd in the championship standings with 13 starts. He then contested seven rounds of the FIA GT Championship across 2007 and 2008, racing in the endurance format alongside team-mates at Larbre Compétition before retiring from racing.[2]

His regular opponents in single-seaters were professional drivers Franck Perera and Marco Bonanomi, both established in European racing and both typically finishing ahead of him. Franchi twice finished ahead of Lewis Hamilton, who that same season was dominating the junior single-seater categories on his way to the GP2 championship, and once beat Nico Rosberg in the Formula 3 Euro Series grid.
