Marco Bonanomi is a professional driver who competed across single-seater and endurance racing for over two decades, rated at 4,497. He holds an FIA Gold grade, the full-professional classification in sportscar and endurance racing. His primary series were Formula V8 3.5, where he made 27 starts for RP Motorsport across 2006 to 2016, and the FIA World Endurance Championship, where he contested eight races for Bykolles Racing Team between 2012 and 2017. He also raced in Formula 3 Euro Series and competed most recently in the GT Winter Series, where he drove a Ferrari 488 Challenge in the CUP 1 class for Kessel Racing.[1]

Bonanomi's career spanned 12 seasons from 2003 to 2024 across 73 starts. He recorded nine podiums and one win; the win came in the 2024 GT Winter Series. In Formula V8 3.5, his longest campaign, he took three podiums across 27 entries. In World Endurance Championship, he earned two podiums in eight starts, finishing ninth in the 2017 season standings. His single-seater record included a podium in Formula 3 Euro Series, where he drove for Prema Powerteam.[2]

In the Formula 3 Euro Series, a field mixing semi-professional drivers with graded professionals, Bonanomi raced against established champions including Lewis Hamilton and Nico Hülkenberg. He finished ahead of Hamilton twice and Hülkenberg once across their meetings. In Formula V8 3.5, he was a regular competitor against Giedo Van Der Garde, the 2008 series champion and a Platinum-graded professional with extensive GP2 and Formula 3 experience; Bonanomi typically finished behind Van Der Garde in their head-to-heads.
