Egon Allgäuer was a Bronze-graded amateur driver competing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a national multiclass endurance championship in which shared cars compete across 15 classes in a single race. Between 2011 and 2015, he raced primarily for Aston Martin Test Centre Aston in modified production-based cars, starting in either the SP 7 or SP 8 classes.[1]
Over five seasons, Allgäuer took 21 starts, one win and seven podiums. He was a regular in the series throughout this period, though his most recent season in 2015 saw him finish 39th in the championship standings. In terms of direct competition, he was typically outpaced by his most frequent opponents: Wolfgang Kaufmann, a 2012 SP 7 champion with experience in the FIA GT Championship, and Uwe Kleen, a three-time consecutive SP 8 champion between 2013 and 2015. Allgäuer finished ahead of Jens Klingmann, an established professional graded Gold by the FIA and a regular across IMSA and European GT racing, on at least one occasion.[2]
