🇺🇸 Trenton Estep

Trenton Estep is a professional racing driver, FIA Silver graded, competing in national multiclass endurance series in North America. He races primarily for MDK Motorsports and other teams in IMSA Pilot Challenge and its sister championships, driving GT3, GT4, and production-based sports cars in fields mixing amateurs, semi-professionals, and graded professionals. His rating of 4,356 places him among professional competitors; his career spans a decade from karting through open-wheel racing to his current work in sportscar endurance.[1]

Estep began his indexed racing in karting in 2014 and 2015, then moved to open-wheel and single-seaters, winning two F1600 championships in 2016. He transitioned to Porsche GT3 Cup competition in 2017 with JDX Racing, taking podiums in 11 of 16 races that year and finishing third in the championship. The following year he won the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge title. Since 2019 his racing has centered on endurance grids. His strongest finishes in IMSA WeatherTech came in 2020, where he took two podiums in nine starts; his Porsche Carrera Cup NA campaign in 2022 yielded three wins and eight podiums across sixteen starts. GT World Challenge America brought four podiums in eight starts in 2023. His most recent wins came in Mustang Challenge and GT4 America in 2024 and 2026 respectively.[2]

Estep regularly races against Varun Choksey, an entry-level professional competitor across multiple endurance and junior series, and typically finishes ahead of him. He is closely matched with Bill Auberlen, an entry-level professional and regular in IMSA WeatherTech and IMSA Pilot Challenge with over a hundred starts in the former. His career has included occasional races against stronger opposition; he finished ahead of Pato O'Ward, an elite professional and multiple-series champion, once, and beat Kyle Busch, an established professional and two-time NASCAR champion, in one encounter. MDK Motorsports, his primary team, fields established professionals and has won races in the championships where Estep competes.
