Shane van Gisbergen is an established professional racing driver from New Zealand competing full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 97 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing, and part-time across NASCAR's Xfinity and Truck series. He holds FIA Platinum grading, the highest professional classification in international sportscar racing. Van Gisbergen is a two-time Supercars champion, winning the Australian touring car title in 2021 and 2022 with Red Bull Ampol Racing.[1]

His record spans 286 starts across 11 seasons in competition. In the Supercars Championship from 2019 to 2023, he amassed 49 wins and 83 podiums across 151 starts, establishing himself as one of the category's leading drivers; Red Bull Ampol Racing won three consecutive titles during his tenure. He has since moved to North American stock car racing, taking 8 wins from 82 NASCAR Cup Series starts since 2023, while adding 6 wins from 39 Xfinity starts and 2 podiums from 5 Truck Series starts. He brought his touring car experience to multiclass endurance racing through limited IMSA WeatherTech competition in the GTD and GTDPRO classes and a single World Endurance Championship appearance in 2022.[2]
