Wolf Henzler is a retired German professional sportscar driver who raced at Platinum grade, the FIA's highest classification for endurance and GT racing. He spent most of his career in two major international championships: the World Endurance Championship and the IMSA WeatherTech series, competing in GT3 and GTE cars for teams including KCMG, Park Place Motorsports, and Team Falken Tire. His racing spanned from 1999 to 2021, with 61 starts across 13 seasons.[1]
Henzler took five podiums in thirteen World Endurance Championship starts between 2012 and 2016, finishing fifth in the championship standings in his final WEC season. He added a podium in the IMSA WeatherTech series in 28 North American starts and two victories overall: one in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in Germany and one in club racing. His other international appearances included the International Formula 3000 in 1999, the FIA GT Championship, the 24H Series endurance multiclass championship, and the Le Mans Cup.[2]
On the grids where Henzler competed most regularly, he was closely matched with established professionals. He raced frequently against Patrick Long and Jeroen Bleekemolen, both FIA Platinum drivers with substantial careers in the same championships; Long contested 58 IMSA races and 20 WEC starts, while Bleekemolen was the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech GTD champion. Henzler also finished ahead of Laurens Vanthoor, who went on to win multiple major endurance championships including the 2021 IMSA GTD title and the 2024 WEC Hypercar championship, and Austin Cindric, an established professional with over two hundred NASCAR Cup Series starts and a 2020 Xfinity championship.
