Takahashi is a Silver-graded semi-professional who raced in Super GT, a national single-class endurance championship run in Japan where amateur and professional drivers share cars. He competed for JLOC across four seasons from 2017 to 2020, taking 15 starts in the series.[1]
Takahashi's career consisted entirely of his Super GT tenure. He finished 19th in the championship standings in 2020, his final season. In shared-car racing against mixed professional and amateur fields, he regularly faced established and elite professionals including multiple championship winners. He was beaten most often by Sho Tsuboi, a Platinum-graded driver who has won four Super GT titles, and by Kazuya Oshima, a Platinum-graded 2016 Super GT champion with 131 starts in the series. Takahashi finished ahead of รlex Palou, an elite professional and four-time IndyCar champion, twice in their meetings, and beat Tomoki Nojiri, a two-time Super Formula champion, on two occasions as well.[2]
