🇺🇸 Billy Johnson

Billy Johnson is an entry-level professional racing in national multiclass endurance championships. He holds FIA Gold status, the full professional grade in sportscar racing. His primary series is IMSA Pilot Challenge, where he races GT4-level production-based sports cars in the GS class for KOHR Motorsports; he has also competed in IMSA WeatherTech, GT4 America, and Lamborghini Super Trofeo NA, as well as the World Endurance Championship from 2016 to 2019.[1]

Johnson won the 2016 IMSA Pilot Challenge championship with Multimatic Motorsports and has taken six wins and ten podiums across 45 starts in that series since 2016. He added one win from ten starts in the WEC, driving the No. 66 Ford GT for Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK, and one podium from six starts in IMSA WeatherTech. His record in Lamborghini Super Trofeo NA and GT4 America, both of which mix amateur and professional entrants, runs to one podium from twelve starts and three starts respectively. Early in his career he made six NASCAR Xfinity starts for Roush Fenway Racing between 2010 and 2013, competing on both ovals and road courses.[2]

Johnson races regularly against entry-level and semi-professional drivers and is closely matched with both Ted Giovanis, a Bronze-graded semi-professional, and Gregory Liefooghe, an entry-level professional with extensive Pilot Challenge and GT4 America experience. He has finished ahead of stronger opposition; most notably he has beaten Kyle Kirkwood, an elite professional and multi-time Indy car champion, twice in shared-car racing, and Chase Briscoe, an elite professional and former ARCA Menards Series champion, once. His current activity is in the 2026 World Racing League with ACP - TANGERINE, where he has raced in two rounds so far.
