Chad Chaffin is a retired American stock car driver who raced in NASCAR Xfinity, a national single-class oval championship mixing amateurs with graded professionals. He competed for Sadler Racing and other teams across 13 seasons, from 1993 to 2006, accumulating 83 starts. He rated as an entry-level professional, competing at a level where drivers are beginning to establish themselves among paying competitors but do not consistently finish ahead of established names.[1]
Chaffin's career in NASCAR Xfinity spanned the series' most competitive era, but his results placed him squarely in the mid-field. He regularly finished behind professional opponents including Jason Keller and two-time Xfinity champion Randy LaJoie, who were far more frequent finishers near the front. His own best achievements came against stronger drivers who occasionally underperformed in individual races; he finished ahead of Kevin Harvick, later a multiple Xfinity champion, five times across their meetings, and beat the established professional Christian Fittipaldi twice. His final indexed season, 2006, saw him in 3 rounds before finishing 43rd in the championship standings. Most of his racing came with Sadler Racing and other small operations that did not produce consistent front-runners.[2]
