Nicolas Schatz was an entry-level professional driver racing in multiclass endurance championships. He competed in the Le Mans Cup and Road to Le Mans, both grids where LMP3 prototypes shared track time with faster and slower classes, drawing fields from amateur to FIA Gold-graded competitors. He drove for ANS Motorsport, an established operation with six race wins on its index and a roster including the professional Eric de Doncker. Schatz held an FIA Silver grade, positioning him below the full-professional Gold and Platinum ranks but ahead of amateur Bronze.[1]

Across seven indexed seasons from 2018 to 2024, Schatz took 39 starts, one win and three podiums. His win came in the Road to Le Mans, a series in which he took most of his podium finishes across 12 appearances. The Le Mans Cup absorbed most of his racing; over 27 starts there he did not reach a podium, competing against a grid that included FIA Gold professionals and multiple established champions. His career ended in 2024 after two rounds of Road to Le Mans.[2]

In the regular company of his own level, Schatz typically finished behind his most frequent opponents, the FIA Bronze professional Anthony Wells and the FIA Gold entry-level professional Colin Noble, both drivers with significantly more starts across these series. His most notable results came against stronger opposition; he finished ahead of Malthe Jakobsen, a FIA Gold professional and champion of three separate championships across the European, Asian and North American Le Mans Series, twice, and ahead of the established professional Timur Boguslavskiy, a GT World Challenge Europe champion, also twice.
