Ryan Phinny is an entry-level professional driver racing in national single-class and multiclass championships in the United States. He holds an FIA Silver grade, the classification for drivers developing toward full professional status in sportscar and endurance racing. His most recent and substantial program came in 2024, when he competed in the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge for Rick Ware Racing with Ave Motorsports, driving an LMP3 prototype in the P3 class.[1]

Phinny's racing record spans from 2006 to 2023 across five series, with ten starts in Indy NXT between 2011 and 2022 representing his most extensive single-series involvement. He contested eight rounds of the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge in 2024, his final indexed season. His career totals stand at 23 starts. Against his regular opponents in Indy NXT, he typically finished behind Matthew Brabham, an established professional and 2013 Pro Mazda champion, while generally running ahead of Brian Thienes, an entry-level professional and frequent competitor in both IMSA and Star Mazda. Phinny finished ahead of Christian Rasmussen, the 2023 Indy NXT champion and now an IndyCar regular, twice in their meetings, and similarly beat Luiz Razia, an established professional with a lengthy GP2 Series history, on two occasions.[2]
