He won the 2024 IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge title with MLT Motorsports, taking four wins and eleven podiums from twelve starts in the P3 class. That followed two seasons in Lamborghini Super Trofeo NA with O'Gara Motorsport / USRT, where he took five wins and thirteen podiums across twenty starts and finished third in the 2021 championship standings after ten rounds, one win and seven podiums. His single-start entries include the 24H Series' GT3 class for ST Racing in 2022 and IMSA WeatherTech's GTD class for O'Gara Motorsport / USRT in 2021. Most recently he joined Method Motorsport's GT4 program for the 2026 Bathurst 12 Hour, taking a win and a podium in his only start for the team.[2]
Aghakhani races regularly against Stevan McAleer, an FIA Gold graded professional with starts across IMSA Pilot Challenge, IMSA WeatherTech and Lamborghini Super Trofeo NA, and the two are closely matched.
