Jaime Camara was a professional racing driver who competed in a single-class national championship run at a mix of oval and road courses. He raced in IndyCar as a solo driver in 2008, fielded by a team that ran the full calendar.[1]
Camara started 15 rounds across the season and finished 28th in the championship standings. His record included outpacing established professionals including Will Power, a two-time IndyCar champion, on five occasions, and Dan Wheldon, the 2005 IndyCar champion, twice. Against the regulars he raced most often, however, he typically finished behind both Power and Scott Dixon, the six-time IndyCar champion.[2]
