Daniel de Jong is a professional racing driver from the Netherlands competing in multiclass endurance racing. He races for MP Motorsport in the 24H Series, piloting GT3 cars in the series' top classes. Graded FIA Silver, he sits below the full-professional Platinum and Gold tiers in endurance racing's licensing structure.[1]
De Jong has contested 15 seasons across single-seater and endurance championships since 2009. His indexed career spans 114 starts in Formula Renault Eurocup, Formula V8 3.5, GP2 Series and the 24H Series, yielding two wins and four podiums. His primary experience came in GP2 between 2012 and 2016, where he made 73 starts for MP Motorsport and finished 20th in the 2016 championship. In the 24H Series since 2018 he has taken two wins from eight starts, including three podiums. A single podium came in Formula Renault Eurocup in 2009โ2010.[2]
De Jong has raced consistently against established professionals; Arthur Pic and Sergio Canamasas, both drivers with substantial records in GP2 and Formula V8 3.5, regularly finish ahead of him in their shared competitions. He has occasionally beaten much stronger opposition; he finished ahead of Pierre Gasly, the 2013 Formula Renault Eurocup champion who went on to Formula 1, five times across their overlapping seasons, and twice outfinished Oliver Rowland, who won the 2015 Formula V8 3.5 championship and later the 2025 Formula E title. His long tenure at MP Motorsport, which has fielded 116 drivers and taken 89 race wins across the index, underscores a career as a reliable supporting driver for an established team rather than a front-runner.
