Jörg Müller is a professional endurance and touring car driver rated 4,177, competing primarily in long-distance GT racing and the World Touring Car Championship. He drove for BMW Team Germany in the WTCC from 2005 to 2009 and for Walkenhorst Motorsport in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie from 2010 to 2022, racing BMW machinery in both. Müller holds FIA Gold grading, placing him among the full professional grades in international sportscar racing.[1]
His most significant achievement came in 1996, when he won the International Formula 3000 championship with RSM Marko as a solo driver in single-seater racing, taking two wins and eight podiums across ten starts. In touring cars, he scored 10 wins and 29 podiums in 108 WTCC starts between 2005 and 2009, finishing sixth in the championship standings in his final season; BMW Team Germany claimed the constructors' title that year with him on the grid. In GT endurance racing, he accumulated 7 podiums across 31 Super GT starts for BMW Team Studie between 2013 and 2017, and 4 wins with 11 podiums in 36 starts for Walkenhorst Motorsport in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie from 2010 to 2022, where the team won the SP 9 class championship in 2016 during his tenure. His early career included three wins and three podiums in ten Formula 3 Macau starts between 1991 and 1994.[2]
Over 22 seasons Müller was closely matched with Augusto Farfus and Jordi Gené in regular head-to-head competition, both professionals of comparable standing. He finished ahead of Sho Tsuboi, a multiple Super GT and Super Formula champion who competed at elite professional level, twice across their meetings in Super GT, and beat Mark Webber, the 2016 WEC LMP1 champion, once during his endurance racing years.
