Dindo Capello is an established professional racing driver in multiclass endurance competition, where his cars are shared by multiple drivers across long-distance races. His indexed record spans the 2012 World Endurance Championship, competing in the LMP1 prototype class for Audi Sport Team Joest.[1]

Capello's 2012 WEC campaign yielded one win and two podiums from three starts, placing him tenth in the championship standings. His results came in a field that mixed amateur and semi-professional entrants with graded professionals. He finished ahead of established professionals including Nick Heidfeld, a former Formula 3000 champion and Formula 1 driver, and Bertrand Baguette, an accomplished driver in Super GT and Formula V8 3.5. He also beat Marc Gene, who had raced in Formula 1, and Jean-Christophe Boullion, a Formula 1 and International Formula 3000 driver.[2]

Capello's broader record extends well beyond this indexed window; he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times, with Bentley in 2003 and with Audi in 2004 and 2008. His teammates at Audi included Allan McNish, one of the strongest drivers fielded by the team across its extensive win record in the series.
