Elias Sabo is an entry-level professional racer competing in national multiclass sportscar racing in the United States. He holds an FIA Bronze grading, the amateur classification in endurance and GT racing. Sabo races for Flying Lizard Motorsports across multiple series: GT America, where he drives both GT4 and GT3 machinery in solo sprint races; GT World Challenge America and GT4 America, both shared-driver endurance championships where he pilots GT4 and GT3 cars; and a single appearance in IMSA WeatherTech. Since 2017 he has made 38 starts with two wins and nine podiums.[1]
His record spans eight seasons of indexed racing beginning in 2017 with one IMSA Pilot Challenge start for GMG Racing. He returned to competition in 2023 with GT4 America, where he won once and took three podiums in eight starts. That year he also entered GT America, taking one win and four podiums across five starts in both GT4 and SRO3 classes. In 2024 Sabo continued in GT America with two more podiums in five starts, made one appearance in the IMSA WeatherTech WeatherTech Championship, and started 15 rounds of GT World Challenge America. His 2025 season has consisted of GT World Challenge America racing only, with activity halted after May when Flying Lizard Motorsports withdrew from the remainder of that championship.[2]
Sabo races regularly alongside entry-level professionals and fellow Bronze-graded drivers in a mixed amateur and professional field. Ross Chouest and Gray Newell, both entry-level professionals with Bronze gradings who have accumulated significantly more starts than Sabo across these series, are close competitors whom he meets repeatedly. He has twice finished ahead of George Kurtz, an established professional and two-time champion of the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech LMP2 and 2023 GT World Challenge America Pro-Am, and twice ahead of Philip Ellis, a Gold-graded established professional and back-to-back IMSA WeatherTech GTD champion.
