Gray Newell is a professional racing driver competing in international and national GT championships. Graded FIA Bronze, he races GT3 and GT4 cars in multiclass endurance and sprint formats for Heart of Racing Team, where he has spent the majority of his indexed career. He is currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship, where he sits tenth in the championship standings after six rounds with two podiums so far this season.[1]

Newell has raced since 2021, with his early seasons concentrated in national US-based GT championships. He won four races in GT4 America's Pro-Am class across 2023 and 2024, and has recorded podiums across GT America, GT4 America, and GT World Challenge America. His record in multiclass endurance racing spans the 24H Series, where he shares a car with teammates over long distances, and international competition in the WEC, where he has already podiumed twice in his debut season there. Across all series, he has taken four wins and 32 podiums from 77 starts.[2]

On record Newell regularly faces professional and entry-level professional drivers in shared-car endurance grids and solo GT sprint racing. He runs closely with Ross Chouest, an entry-level professional with extensive GT America experience, and typically finishes behind Curt Swearingin, a professional who won the GT4 America Pro-Am championship in 2024. He has finished ahead of established professionals including Earl Bamber, a Platinum-graded driver with 82 IMSA WeatherTech starts and 46 WEC appearances, and Christophe Tinseau, a Silver-graded driver with 18 Formula 3000 starts to his name. His team has fielded established professionals as its lead drivers; Mattia Drudi, the team's strongest driver on record, is an established professional who has won across the team's programme.
