Fabio Onidi is a retired professional driver who raced single-seaters in the Formula Renault Eurocup and GP2 Series between 2007 and 2012. He spent his final season with Scuderia Coloni in GP2, where he competed against a field mixing amateurs and professionals; in his 20 starts across both series combined, he finished 20th in the 2012 GP2 championship standings.[1]
His record placed him in the middle order of those grids. He regularly finished behind Fabio Leimer, who went on to win the 2013 GP2 title, and ran closely matched with Stรฉphane Richelmi, a driver who later won the WEC LMP2 championship twice. Onidi took individual race results against stronger opposition; he finished ahead of Daniel Ricciardo, then a rising driver who would go on to Formula 1, on three occasions, and beat Jolyon Palmer, who won the 2014 GP2 championship, the same number of times.[2]
