Marcelo Conchado is an entry-level professional who raced in the Formula Renault Eurocup, a single-class championship that mixes amateur and semi-professional drivers with graded professionals in the same field. He drove for Amiter Galuppo Sport during his indexed career.[1]
Conchado's only recorded season came in 2008, when he started seven Formula Renault Eurocup rounds and finished 24th in the championship standings. He regularly encountered drivers who would go on to establish themselves at much higher levels; Daniel Ricciardo, who became an elite professional and Formula 1 driver, and Jean-Eric Vergne, who won the Formula E championship twice, were regular opponents throughout that season, and Conchado typically finished behind both. He took individual race finishes ahead of Albert Costa, the 2009 Formula Renault Eurocup champion, and Nathanael Berthon, a professional who later raced in the FIA World Touring Car Cup and GP2 Series.[2]
